The Champion Power Equipment 38-ton gas-powered log splitter takes on the wood other splitters back away from. Oversized oak, knotty hickory, dense rounds from a fallen tree, a property's worth of firewood waiting in the yard. With 38 tons of splitting force and a 17 sec. cycle time, it delivers up to 211 cycles per hour under ideal conditions so the longest days of splitting stay productive from start to finish.
Powered by a 270cc Honda GX270 engine, the splitter drives a 2-stage, 14 GPM gear pump and a spring-centered, auto-return control valve. Push the handle forward to split, release, and the wedge resets while you load the next log. A hardened steel tapered wedge holds the log in place as it splits, and welded log strippers keep the beam clear. Handle logs up to 24 in. long, and when a round is too heavy to lift, convert from horizontal to vertical in seconds. The auto-lock horizontal pin and quick-lock vertical pin both engage with a spring-loaded pin for a positive hold in either orientation.
Built around a full I-beam frame with two reinforced log catchers, an internal oil strainer, and an external thread-on oil filter, this splitter is engineered to keep running through high-volume seasons. DOT-approved pneumatic wheels rated up to 45 MPH and a 2 in. ball hitch (Class 1 or higher) let you tow it across the property or between job sites.
