The inspiration for the paint scheme was to mimic the Allegiant fleet. With low-low fares, nonstop, all-jet service and premier travel partners, Allegiant provides a complete travel experience with great value without all the hassle.
In the Rearview Mirror: Kentucky Speedway … After competing in the top ten for the majority of the UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway on June 26, Joey Coulter drove the GMS Racing No. 21 Allegiant Travel / Vertx Chevrolet Silverado to a 12th-place finish at the 1.5-mile speedway.
Joey Coulter Quote:
“Iowa Speedway is my favorite track on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule for sure. The track has multiple racing grooves and has enough grip to race side-by-side all night long. I am really feeling good about the progress we have made over the past few weeks at GMS Racing. The trucks are getting faster and the team is getting stronger as a whole. If we can put all of the puzzle pieces together, we are going to have a really good shot at victory this weekend.”
No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado
This Week’s GMS Racing’s Chevrolet Silverado at Iowa Speedway … Spencer Gallagher will pilot Chassis No. 009 in the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway. This Chevrolet Silverado has served as a backup at Martinsville Speedway on March 29 to the Ryan “Pickle” London-led team but this will mark the first laps for the chassis in 2014. Iowa Speedway Debutant … Friday will mark Gallagher’s first career start at the Iowa Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The Las Vegas native has two ARCA Racing Series starts at the Newton, Iowa, facility. He has a career-best finish of eighth-place in July 2012.
In the Rearview Mirror: Kansas Speedway … Spencer Gallagher last piloted the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado on May 9 at Kansas Speedway, finishing in the 30th position due to an incident on the first lap.
Spencer Gallagher Quote:
“I’m really looking forward to taking my Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado to Iowa Speedway for my first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race there. I have been to Iowa Speedway with the ARCA Racing Series, and it’s really one of my favorite tracks. The 7/8-mile size is perfect for the short-track racing that everybody loves. The multiple race grooves mean that you can make a truck work almost anywhere around the track, which helps make passing much easier for the driver. Additionally, having my teammate, Joey Coulter, there racing alongside of me is going to make the transition from driving an ARCA Racing Series car to a truck much smoother. So, I’m really looking forward to getting out there!”
