LEARNING CURVE FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT SEBRING
โ€œI can’t thank Ford Performance and Multimatic Motorsprots enough for this opportunity. I was definitely a fish out of water when I got here, but I feel good about the progress Matt (Crafton) and I made this week. Unfortunately, we had to make a couple unnecessary pass-thru penalties – one for running over pit equipment when I initially got in the car – I guess one of the crew guys dropped a radio, and I ran over it – and another to repair damage late in the race. I don’t know exactly what happened going into Turn 7. Looking back, I should have shoved my teammate Ben Rhodes there on the bottom, and went ahead and got by those guys, but he had an engine issue and I thought we could clear him going into Turn 7. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and I thought we were two wide, and we ended up three-wide, and I got dumped there in the right rear. Not the result we wanted, but we were able to salvage something, and I feel good about our progress going from the back of the pack to mid-pack. Honestly, I gained a ton of experience, and I actually feel comfortable in these cars, even though I know I still have a long way to go.”
