GRANT ENFINGER RALLY’S FROM A LAP DOWN TO WIN IN HIS TRACK DEBUT AT RICHMOND RACEWAY

How do you explain a night like this? You had contact with your teammate, Ben Rhodes, which could have ruined everything and you come back and won this race. How did you do it?

“Man, this is a special night for us. It’s been a rough couple of months, but blessed to have some great partners – blessed to have Champion Power Equipment on board with us here. This one is for my buddy Jason, he’s been in the hospital for a month and a half or so now, but he’s starting to wake up, so this one’s for him and everyone who’s stood behind us. Even though we got the year started out pretty good, it’s been some rough couple months. I’m thankful to Duke and Rhonda Thorson, everyone that let’s us do this. We catch a little heck every now and then, but we had three ThorSport Racing F-150’s that could have won the race tonight, and I’m proud of that.”

Nothing about tonight was easy, especially trying to chase down your teammate Matt Crafton. Tell me about the pass for the lead, on old tires. How did you do it?

“It seemed like he (Crafton) wanted to be on the bottom, he could roll the top a little bit, but we rolled the center really good, and that was our advantage on the long run. I can’t say thank you enough to Jeff Hensley. Like I said, we’ve been beating our heads against the wall lately, but I feel like we’re going into the Playoff’s with some momentum. Really proud of our guys, proud of the guys on pit road. It’s been a tough stretch – a tough stretch with no sponsors at the track – hopefully they’ll know now we’ve been working our butt off all year.”
