Kaique Pacheco Louisville 2021 Recap

March 29, 2021

Kaique Pacheco rode two of three bulls in the Lucas Oil event which proved to be enough for Kaique to win his league leading third UTB event of the year.  And with his third place finish in the 15 / 15 Bucking Battle Saturday night Pacheco earned a cumulative 179 world standings points to overtake the number one ranking in the world.  Kaique had numerous highlights this weekend as he won both rounds 1 and 2; he had ridden 9 straight bulls before bucking off his attempt in the event championship round (Kaique this season was 3 for 3 and had a perfect riding percentage in event championship rounds before that buck off).  The two round wins brings his season total to 3, tied for second among all riders.  His is currently riding at a career best clip of 65.22% this year, which leads all competitors with at least 3 bulls attempted.

Being ranked number one in the world is a familiar feeling for Kaique.  The 2018 World Champion was last on top in week 2 of 2020 and he enters the Easter weekend holiday with 572.50 world standing points, a 55-point lead over second place.
