Jess Lockwood World Finals (Final) 2022 Recap

June 20, 2022

Lingering effects from a 2021 pelvis surgery, and a shoulder fracture early in the season limited Jess Lockwood to six regular season events.  He had one top ten finish, and qualified for one event championship round.  Jess finished the season with 54 points, placing 72nd in the PBR World Standings.

After much thought and discussion, Jess opted in to the Teams Series in a limited roll, and was selected by the Oklahoma Freedom in the first round of the Supplemental draft.  Jess will not ride a complete schedule as he continues to get back into riding condition.  His short term goal and focus is to use the Team Series schedule and coaching to his advantage and get prepared for a run at the 2023 PBR UTB world title, which would be his third championship (2017 & 2019).  Whatever success comes from the Team Series will be a bonus.
