Kaique Pacheco St. Louis 2022 Recap

Kaique Pacheco was excused from the St. Louis event and he travelled back to Brazil to attend his now fiancé’s medical school graduation.  He popped the question last week … and she said yes!  He returns stateside this week and will be in Minneapolis, MN ready to compete.  He is currently in a 4 way tie for 24th in the PBR UTB world finals standings.

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 3, highlighted by finishing in a 5 rider tie for 6th in Round 1.  That lone ride qualified Kaique for the event championship round but he was unable to convert.  Pacheco earned 12 world points and his currently in a 4 way tie for 12th in the PBR World Standings.

Kaique Pacheco finished third in the World Finals event, and Reserve PBR World Champion to eventual winner D. Swearingen in one of the most highly contested PBR World Championships in recent memory.  Kaique rode 5 of 8 bulls, highlighted by a 4th in Rd.’s 2 & 3, a 1st in round 4, and top 7 finishes in Rd.’s 6 & 7.  His event championship round buck off would prove to be the costliest of the season, where IF he had ridden for at least 91.25 points (and he had plenty of bull to score 91+) he would have elevated himself to the World Standings Lead, and force Swearingen to cover his last attempt.  But it was not meant to be and Kaique finished second in the world standings for the fourth time (2022 – 21, 2015 – 16).  If you remove Pacheco’s 2019 injury plagued season in which he finished 79th, from 2015 to 2022 his average season finish is a remarkable 2.8!

That being said, you should know that Kaique broke his foot in round 2, inside the bucking chutes prior to riding his bull.  He will never say it, and there are never any excuses but he came within one ride of potentially winning another world title.  By finishing 3rd in the event Kaique earned 480 world points and $174,000, with his yearend totals being 1,275 points, a second place finish in the world standings and $373,194 in season earnings

Injuries held Kaique to 22 PBR UTB events; 15 regular season, the world finals and he qualified and competed in six 15 / 15 Bucking Battle rounds.  He won two UTB events (Sioux Falls and Everett), he had five 90 point rides and lead the PBR UTB with 28 bull ridden.  His riding percentage of 54.90 % (28 of 51) was also the best for those at World Finals.  Kaique lead the series with nine event round wins, 3 of which were event championship rounds (also lead the series), he qualified and competed in 11 event championship rounds, had eight top 5 and ten top 10 finishes.

Kaique was drafted in the first round, second overall by the Nashville Stampede in the PBR Team series draft.

Kaique Pacheco PBR World Finals 2022 Recap

Kaique Pacheco rode 2 of 3 over the weekend highlighted by placing 4th in both rounds 2 and 3.  Unfortunately for Kaique it looks like he may have fractured his foot while attempting his second round bull Saturday night.  We will know more later today after X – Rays and MRI if needed.   His bull became agitated in the chutes prior to the gate opening and Kaique’s foot was slammed into the side panels.  He rode last night with a steel plate inside his boot to protect it.  He has vowed to not let this injury hold him back from trying to win his 2nd world title.  Pacheco is currently 7th in the event, he’s earned 79 standings points on two rides and remains 3rd in the world standings with 874 points.

Kaique Pacheco went 2 for 3 and finished 4th overall in the event, his 7th top five finish of the season.  Kaique once again got off to a great start, winning round 1 and extending his league lead in round wins to 8.  Kaique earned 54 points and remains 3rd in the PBR world standings with 795 points, 80.50 points from the leader.  He has officially qualified for his 7th PBR World Finals (2015 – 2018, 2020 – 22).

In what was his 6th 15 / 15 Bucking Battle of the season Saturday night Kaique failed to convert.

Kaique Pacheco went 2 for 3 and finished 3rd overall in the event, his 6th top five finish of the season.  Kaique won round 1, his league leading 7th round win of the season and was leading the event going into the event championship round.  He earned 81 world points and he remains 3rd in the PBR world standings with 741 points, 121 points from the leader.

Kaique failed to convert on his 15 / 15 Bucking Battle round attempt Friday night.

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 3 and finished 9th overall in the event, his 7th top ten finish of the season.  He earned 17.5 world points and he remains 3rd in the PBR world standings with 660 points.  This was the 8th event championship round qualification.

Kaique Pacheco continued to impress as he rode 3 of 4 bulls resulting in yet another top five finish and improvement in his world standings position.  Kaique rode in the first three rounds, extending his success streak to 7 straight scores, and he’s now ridden 15 of his last 18 bulls since Glendale.  He finished fifth overall, his 5th top five finish of the year, he earned 43.50 points improving to 3rd in the PBR world standings with 642.50 points.

Kaique Pacheco continues to dominate the field as he rode both attempts last night, placing first in both rounds 1 and the event championship round on his way to winning his second consecutive UTB event.  The round wins were his 5th and 6th of the season (and 3rd and 4th in a row!), in which he now leads all other competitors.  The championship round win was his 3rd of the season, also leading all other competitors.  He earned 137 world points and for the first time this season climbed inside the top 5 to 4th in the PBR world standings with 599 points.  The event win was Kaique’s 47th career PBR sanctioned event win (26th Elite series), and for the first time he has won back to back PBR Elite Series (Built Ford Tough / Unleash the Beast) events.  Pacheco has ridden 4 straight, and an incredible 14 of 17 bulls since March 5th Global Cup.
