GenTent® Expands OEM Agreement With Champion Power Equipment To Cover Inverter Class Generators

September 27, 2018

Champion Power Equipment has demonstrated continued success in the Covered by GenTent™ program, tripling original projections of FY2017.

Nottingham, NH – September 27, 2018 – GenTent Safety Canopies, LLC., today announced it has expanded their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Champion Power Equipment to include new hardware to cover Champion’s inverter class portable generators. The agreement enables Champion Power Equipment to offer a branded, color-coordinated GenTent system, custom fit to now fit all of their portable generator models.

“We’re seeing more and more customers move towards inverter generators and our digital hybrid model due to the reduced size/weight, clean power produced, reduced noise level, and better fuel efficiency” said Jake Stadler, Inverter Generator Product Manager for Champion Power Equipment.  “With the positive response to our Storm Shield portable generator covers, Champion is excited to offer a convenient weather resistant solution to our users invested in our inverter generator line.”

Partnering Champion Power Equipment with the Covered by GenTent™ OEM program has yielded tremendous success in FY2017, tripling the original projections, and laying the ground work for the product line expansion in FY2018. GenTent’s market-leading canopies keep not only generators but generator operators safe by protecting the electrical panels while running in inclement weather — including blizzard and hurricane force precipitation.  Inverter class portable generators have become an increasingly popular sub division of the generator market, and Champion Power Equipment is consistently one of the leaders in the space.  The expansion of Champion’s now industry leading Storm Shield running cover is a natural step in continuing to grow the reach of their brand and satisfy their customers with the same quality they expect in the Champion product line.

“The GenTent is designed to help protect families, not only in times of emergency but anytime there is need for portable power. We are dedicated to helping customers use their power safely.” Said Brian Dobson, Business Development Manager for GenTent Safety Canopies.   “We are proud to partner with Champion Power Equipment as they lead the way in their industry for customer safety. The expansion of the Storm Shield product line is a big step towards ‘WeatherProofing’ all portable power options in the market.”

Champion Power Equipment’s Storm Shield, its custom version of the GenTent 10k for inverter class generators, will be available throughout Champion’s online and retail sales channels with anticipated availability in the Fall of 2018.

Four Champs Move Ahead

August 23, 2018

4 Top-Ranked Athletes Have 2 Things in Common

What do 4 champion athletes have in common? Not only is each one proudly sponsored by Champion Power Equipment, but all four are ranking high and winning big worldwide.

Grant Enfinger, 33, professional stock car racing driver, picked up his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win in 2016 with GMS Racing, and recently made it into the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs. Of his 16 starts so far in 2018 with ThorSport Racing, Grant has 4 top-5 finishes and 12 top-10 finishes. No matter how crowded the track, you can’t miss Enfinger’s bright yellow and black Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150.

Kaique Pacheco is the #1-ranked bull rider in the world. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) point system is consistent throughout the world and rewards riders like Pacheco, 26, with points for individual performance and throughout the season. Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Kaique began bull riding professionally at age 17, was named PBR Rookie of the Year in 2015 at age 21 and currently claims the number one spot in the 2018 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast.

West Virginia’s Jason Lentz is not only the #1-ranked lumberjack in the world, he is a 4th generation lumberjack and a 3rd generation winner of the Tony Wise All-Around Lumberjack title. Lentz, 33, started chopping wood at age 3, presumably influenced by his dad, Mel, who is considered by many to be the King of the Lumberjacks. Jason says his strongest timbersports discipline is the underhand chop and advises anyone who wants to get into the sport to learn correct technique.

Casey Currie is the winner of the 2018 Baja 500 in the Hammer Truck Unlimited Division. This rugged race takes place in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, and covers a course of 542.12 miles. Currie’s family has been building motorsports parts for over 50 years. Casey, 35, started racing motorcycles at the age of 5 and at age 16, he raced his first truck. When he’s not busy with his full race schedule, you might find this off-road champion building off-road vehicles or running trails at home in California.

Big congrats to these four champs who are showing the world they are Always Ahead!

Are You Prepared for Hurricane Season?

June 22, 2018

Hurricane season is upon us, and unfortunately, storms won’t wait until you’re ready. It’s time to bump Hurricane Power Outage Readiness to the top of your to-do list.

Most people are never fully prepared for a natural disaster. Storms don’t happen at convenient times, and we don’t usually add “hurricane” to our calendar during an opening between meetings.

However, there are specific things you can do now to make sure that when a hurricane strikes, you, your home and your family will be as prepared as possible.

Storm Preparedness 101: Here’s a quick list of items you should take care of ASAP.

  • Evacuation Plan: Know the recommended evacuation route, and keep your gas tank full.
  • Supplies: Keep bottled water and other supplies on hand.
  • Hurricane Kit: Include a first-aid kit, medications, a battery-powered radio, flashlight, batteries, whistle and local maps.
  • Copy Important Documents: Back up your computer, and keep copies of important documents in a safety deposit box.
  • Prepare Your Home: Secure or store outdoor items, and make sure your roof and shingles are in good shape to withstand strong winds.
  • Back Up Your Power: Determine what type of generator you need in case of a power outage.

Where there are hurricanes, there are power outages. If conditions are unsafe, you and your family may need to remain at home. When the power’s out, appliances you depend on, like your refrigerator, electric stove, lights and A/C can’t be used. If you can’t charge your phone, use your computer or tune in to the local news, you’ll be cut off from communication, which is vital during a hurricane power outage.

During the summer months, losing the ability to cool your home is no joke. The heat can make your home unbearable, and continual high temperatures and humidity can damage your home’s interior. Losing power to your refrigerator means your food will go bad, and replacing all that you’ve lost can be incredibly expensive.

Hurricane power outage readiness should include the purchase of a generator. Owning a reliable generator ensures peace of mind during a power outage caused by a hurricane.

There are two main types of generators for hurricanes: portable and home standby.

A portable generator is a convenient solution if you only want to back up a few essentials. Portable generators come in different sizes, they run on either gasoline or propane, and they don’t need to be installed.

If you’d like to power more than just the essentials, or even your whole home, you may want to have a standby generator installed. Standbys never need refueling since they are connected to your propane or natural gas system. Your home standby generator starts automatically when the power goes out and returns to standby when power is restored, ensuring security and convenience for your family during a hurricane power outage.

Knowing that you have a safe source of power during an emergency is priceless, since the security and safety of your family is more important than anything else. What’s on your to-do list for hurricane season readiness?

Fraud Alert – Protect Yourself!

AVOID: www.ChampionGeneratorSale.com

It has come to our attention that there are active websites posing as authorized retailers that are trying to take advantage of those in need – e.g. those in Puerto Rico where generator supply is limited and shipping is generally more expensive. The website www.ChampionGeneratorSale.com has NO affiliation with Champion Power Equipment whatsoever and we are working with federal law enforcement get the site taken down. They are listing fake offerings for generators at lower than market value with free shipping worldwide. Upon investigation we have found that they have not shipped a single generator to any customers who’s made a “purchase” on their website. Many of our valued customers have contacted us to report this. We want to assure you we are doing all we can to bring an end to this.

If you have made a purchase from this website, we recommend that you contact your financial institution or credit card provider to immediately stop payment. We also recommend that you report the card number as being used on a fraudulent website and that your credit card information may be compromised.

We apologize to anyone who has been a victim of this scam. The way the law is written, the website hosting provider does not have to respond to our requests until an authority having jurisdiction has made a ruling and a court order has been issued. They will then comply. This is currently in process and we hope to reach resolution as soon as possible.

Here are some tips you can use to protect yourself when shopping online sources other than the household retail names.

Grant Enfinger Returns To ThorSport Racing For 2018 Season

GRANT ENFINGER RETURNS TO THORSPORT RACING FOR 2018 SEASON
SANDUSKY, Ohio (January 23, 2018) – Grant Enfinger, the 2015 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Champion, will return to ThorSport Racing for the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season, piloting the No. 98 Champion Power Equipment/Curb Records Ford F-150. The Fairhope, Ala. native, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Monday, led 41 laps en route to nine top-five and 15 top-10 finishes in his rookie season for the Sandusky, Ohio-based team in 2017, and plans to build on that success as he competes for the championship title in 2018.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be back with ThorSport Racing for the 2018 season, and also to be back with Ford,” said Grant Enfinger. “A good bit of my earlier years in the ARCA Series were with Ford, and with their support we were able to go to victory lane quite a few times. I’ve always maintained a good relationship with those guys, and I feel that we can translate that into success in the Truck Series. I’m very thankful for the opportunity that Duke and Rhonda Thorson have allowed for us this year, and last. I know we can build on what we had last year, and make them proud by seeing their trucks in victory lane a lot this year.”
Enfinger’s 2018 campaign will once again be led by veteran crew chief Jeff Hensley, and the 2016 Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway winner will continue his partnership with Champion Power Equipment, a market leader in power generation equipment, and Curb Records in 2018.
“This is a great opportunity for Grant (Enfinger), Jeff (Hensley), and the entire No. 98 team, to build on the success we started in 2017,” said David Pepper, General Manager of ThorSport Racing. “We look forward to having everyone back to compete for race wins and a championship title in 2018. As our driver line-up starts to take shape for the upcoming season, everyone at ThorSport Racing is working hard to get our Ford F-150’s built to compete at the top level of the series.”
Enfinger, who earned his first NCWTS Keystone Light Pole Award in the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (2016), also has two wins in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at the 2.5-mile track, and will make his fourth career NCWTS start in the season-opening NextEra Energy Resources 250 on Friday, Feb. 16. All the action will be televised live on FOX Sports 1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR channel 90 at 7:30pm ET.
Enfinger will be available to the media in the Print Breakout Room (217AB) as part of the Charlotte Media Tour from 4:00-4:20pm ET on Tuesday, January 23.

Ultimate Inverter Decibel Challenge

September 19, 2017

YouTube user Generator Power Source has recently conducted some very cool and in-depth field tests to find out which inverter was the quietest in real-world conditions. Guess what? Champion came away with the “Quietest Generator Under Load” award. Check out that video below and also check out the Generator Power Source YouTube channel for more great videos.

Video: Quietest Generator Under A Load

Much to our surprise the largest inverter generator that http://www.generatorpowersource.com tested was the QUIETEST generator under a load. The 3500 Dual Fuel generator by Champion really impressed us! Not only was it the quietest under a load, it was the quietest at 50′ in eco mode.

What makes this generator more enticing than the super quiet operating levels is the fact that this generator is RV ready. Additionally, it can be paralleled (although this unit is supposed to provide enough power for a 15,000 BTU Air Conditioner).

Video: Ultimate Decibel & Load Test

Generator Power Source conducts a sound and load test on the top name portable inverter generators including, Honda EU 2000i, Generac iQ2000, Energizer eZV2000P and eZV3200P, Westinghouse iGen2000, Champion Dual Fuel 3,500, & Coleman Powermate (open frame) 3,500.

So which is the quietest? Well, it turns out that, it depends on whether the generator is under a load and at what distance we take decibel readings. We have included readings from at the unit, 20′, 30′ and 50′. Surprising enough, one of the largest generators in the test was the quietest generators under a load.

We also tested voltage drop when a load was applied. We used a 1500 Watt Heat Gun to apply a load to these inverter generators. This is a silent, yet, power hungry device which would tax the generators. The smaller generators experienced the largest voltage drop. one generators even went form an idle of 124V down to 80V when the load was applied.

Thank you for your understanding and we will do our best to get the order out in a timely manner as soon as we have the go ahead.

Summer of Racing

September 6, 2017

Champion Power Equipment is a proud sponsor of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Grant Enfinger and his #98 Toyota Tundra by Thor Sport Racing. We had the chance to follow Grant around Ohio’s Eldora Speedway as he met race fans, talked about Champion Generators, and handed out some autographs and free merchandise.
