Kaique Pacheco went 0 for 2 this past weekend but he remains number one in the world standings with 3815 world standings points.  Pacheco has been first overall since week 17 of the season.

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series: the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast travels to Fairfax, VA for the US Border Patrol Invitational taking place at EagleBank Arena on the campus of George Mason University.  The 22nd event of the season, a two-day event gets underway Saturday September 22nd at 6:45 pm ET and concludes with round two and the championship round Sunday September 23rd at 1:45 pm ET.  Fairfax will also host the ninth instalment of the 15 / 15 bucking battle round Saturday night.

The action in its entirety will air live via PBR’s new streaming digital platform RidePass. The listen LIVE stream for the two-day event will begin on Saturday, September 22nd at 7:30 p.m. ET, and conclude on Sunday, September 23rd at 2:45 p.m. ET.

Springfield, MO PFIWestern.com Invitational weekend review

Kaique Pacheco went 3 for 4 and won the PFIWestern.com Invitational; including his three 15/15 Bucking Battle round wins, this was his sixth event win of the year.  Pacheco topped the field in round one, again in round three and he was the only rider to cover three bulls.   Kaique earned 700 world standings points and he has now extended his standings lead to 826 points.   Kaique has held the top spot since he won the Las Vegas (May ‘18) major and currently has 3815 world standings points.

Kaique was unable to cover his 15/15 Bucking Battle bull.

Kaique Pacheco was a perfect 4 for 4 in the second leg of the Global Cup, and while he wasn’t the only rider to ride all of his attempts, he did have the highest score total to win the individual average title.  There were no world points available at this event; only purse money and bragging rights!  Team Brazil rode 15 of 18 bulls on route to victory.

This was Kaique’s first event since winning the last PBR event before summer break in Las Vegas.  He has now ridden eight consecutive bulls at all levels of PBR competition and has won $229,761.53 in his last two events. He won $160,266.67 at Last Cowboy Standing.

Kaique is currently number 1 in the world standings with 2870 points, 240 points clear of 2^nd place.

He has returned to Brazil and will compete at the Americana event this weekend knowing full well that points are at a premium during the summer months.

Kaique Pacheco was a perfect 4 for 4, and once again was the only perfect rider in four rounds of Last Cowboy Standing, PBR’s most demanding Major event for the third consecutive year.  Among the highlights, Kaique marked a career best ride score of 92.75 points on PBR’s elite tour in round 3 aboard two-time World Champion Bull SweetPro’s Bruiser; he won rounds 3 and 4; he earned a whopping 940 world standings points and $160,266.67 with the win, both totals career bests.  And to top it all off, Kaique now enters the summer break in the number one spot of the PBR standings with 2,870 points.  

Pacheco last spent 4 weeks at number one in August – September of 2017.  He had fallen as low as 21^st in the world after the Albuquerque event March 16 – 18^th, 2018.  Since then, in six Classic events and four 15 / 15 Bucking Battles, he has ridden 19 of 24 bulls, a staggering 79% and has an average finish of 3.4!

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series:  the 25^th PBR: Unleash the Beast breaks for the summer and will return for its 18^thstop in the 2018 season August 11 – 12 in Tulsa, OK and the Express Employment Professionals Classic Presented by Osage Casino at the BOK Center. 

The Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour and PBR Touring Pro Division will take center stage as riders will pick and choose which events to compete in.   I will continue to update you on their progress and if any milestones take place as needed.  Including a much more in depth analysis of the first 17 events out to you at some point next week.

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 3 and fell one spot in the world standings to fifth.  He earned 5 points, his fifth event in a row to earn points, with a 14^th place event finish and currently has 1,930 points.   

Pacheco failed to ride his bull Saturday night in the 15 / 15 bucking battle. 

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series:  the 25^th PBR: Unleash the Beast heads to Las Vegas, NV and the PBR Last Cowboy Standing presented by Ariat at the Thomas & Mack Center.  The 17^th stop in the 2018 season is the third Major event of the year, and final 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast event prior to the annual summer break.  Riding gets underway Friday May 4^th at 7:45 pm PT and concludes Saturday May 5^th at 7:45 pm PT. 

CBS Sports Network will air INSIDE the MAJORS Friday night at 10:30 PM ET.  Followed by round 1 at 11:00 pm ET.  Saturday’s championship round gets underway at 11:00 pm ET.

CBS Network will air the Best of Last Cowboy Standing Sunday afternoon beginning at 1:00 pm ET.

PBR Competition Committee approved a special format for the event this past weekend.  Since the three-day event also involved a separate 15/15 Bucking Battle, it was devised to protect riders who could be attempting as many as five bulls in three days.  It was an attempt to lessen the number of bulls a rider may potentially get on over the course of a three-day weekend when there are weeks with back-to-back 15/15 Bucking Battles.

The riders that competed in the 15/15 Bucking Battle Saturday night did not attempt a long-round bull earlier in the evening; Round 1 was split across Friday and Saturday night.  Round 2 and the event championship round was Sunday afternoon.  PBR opened the field to the 60 highest-ranking riders in the world standings to fill the void.

Kaique Pacheco followed up his Tacoma event win by riding 3 for 3 and finishing second in Billings.  Kaique earned points in all three rounds totaling 362.50 and has now improved his standings position to fourth in the world with 1,925 points.  Pacheco also rode his 15 / 15 Bucking Battle bull Saturday night and shared the event win, his third of the season.  With his fifth career bucking battle championship, Kaique now has the most 15 / 15 victories in PBR history.

Pacheco worked his way through a career worst slump in February and is currently amid a career best conversion rate of 14 rides over his last 16 attempts.    In his last four events, Kaique has improved 17 standings positions, his average event finish is 3^rd, and his riding percentage has been an astounding 87.5%.

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series:  the 25^th PBR: Unleash the Beast heads to Columbus, OH and the Columbus Invitational presented by Cooper Tires at the Schottenstein Center on the campus of Ohio State University.  The 16^th stop in the 2018 season gets under way Saturday April 28^th at 6:45 PM ET and concludes with the championship round Sunday April 29^th at 1:45 PM ET.  The top 15 riders will compete in the season’s sixth installment of the 15 / 15 Bucking Battle Saturday night as well.
