Kaique Pacheco 2019 St. Louis Recap

Kaique Pacheco returned to the PBR UTB tour this past weekend and went 1 for 3, the lone highlight a third place finish in round one with a bull score high enough to qualify for the event championship round.  Kaique earned 53 world standings points for his eighth place finish in the event and after sitting out the first five events, he begins his title defense in 83rd place in the PBR world standings.  Something to think about leading up to this week’s Iron Cowboy PBR Major event, the reigning PBR World Champion owns the PBR record with four PBR Major victories. He has won three consecutive Last Cowboy Standing titles and one Music City Knockout championship.

Up Next for PBR’s Unleash the Beast tour: The PBR UTB tour heads west to Los Angeles, CA for the 2019 Iron Cowboy at Staples Center.  The second of four PBR Major events in the season comes with a unique format compared to standard Unleash the Beast events.  Iron Cowboy is a minimum of two rounds and a maximum of five.  At least 25 riders will advance to Round 2, with any draw spots being filled by the current world standings heading into Iron Cowboy if there are less than 25 rides in Round 1.  If all riders buck off in Rounds 2, 3 or 4, then all riders that attempted a bull advance to the next round.

If there is more than one ride in the final round (Round 5), then the Iron Cowboy will be the rider with the highest ride score in Round 5.  If there are no rides in Round 5, then the Iron Cowboy will be the rider with the most round points that had competed in Round 5.

The seventh stop in the 2019 season gets underway Friday February 22nd at 7:45 pm PST and concludes Saturday February 23rd at 6:45 pm PST.   CBS Sports Network will air round two and the Championship round Saturday February 23rd 10:30 pm EST.

Kaique Pacheco 2019 Arlington Recap

Team Brazil collectively went 11 for 18 and won for the second consecutive time defending their Global Cup win in Sydney AUS in June 2018.  Team USA – Eagles went 10 of 18 and fell 72 points shy (or one average bull score) to finish second.  The remaining teams rounded out the five country six team format as follows: Team USA – Wolves went 8 for 18, Team Australia was 6 for 18, Team Mexico went 4 for 18 and Team Canada 3 for 18.  There were no PBR world standings points awarded during the event.  Riders earned money, but not points.

Kaique Pacheco made his return to competition and rode his lone bull of the event Saturday night.  He did experience a little tightness and pulled himself from Sunday’s draw.  Pacheco is a combined 5 for 7 in the three Global Cups he has competed in.  He is still on schedule to make his season debut on the PBR Unleash the Beast tour this upcoming week in St. Louis.

Up Next for PBR’s Unleash the Beast tour: The PBR UTB tour moves to St. Louis, MO for the Mason Lowe Memorial at the Enterprise Center.  The event was recently renamed in honor of eight-year veteran PBR athlete Mason Lowe from Exeter, Missouri, who passed away on January 15 following injuries suffered at a PBR bull riding event in Denver, Colo.

Kaique Pacheco 2019 New York Recap

The 2019 Professional Bull Riders season kicked off this past weekend in New York City at Madison Square Garden.  Once again, I will relay via email a short post event competition recap to you for Kaique.  I always try and push them out Monday morning, but due to travel arrangements yesterday was not an option this time.  If there is another person you would like me to include, please let me know and they will be added to the email list.

Kaique Pacheco continues to rehab his injured knee in Brazil and when we spoke last week his plan was to return to Dallas on January 12th for an appointment with Dr. Tandy Freeman soon thereafter.  If cleared for competition Kaique is aiming for a return late January (Sacramento) or early February (Oklahoma City).

Up Next for PBR’s Unleash The Beast tour: the Chicago Invitational is the second stop in the 2019 season as the Unleash The Beast Tour heads to Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL Saturday January 12th and Sunday January 13th.   Event local start times are 6:45 PM CT Saturday and 1:45 PM CT Sunday afternoon.

Kaique Pacheco 2018 World Finals Recap

Kaique Pacheco went 2 for 5 in the world finals event, overcame serious ligament tears in his knee and claimed his first PBR World Championship.

At the Velocity Tour event Saturday before the start of world finals, Pacheco sustained partial tears to both the MCL and PCL in his left knee.

He was advised to stay off the knee for 12 weeks, but he fought through the pain to earn the victory.

Kaique earns the PBR’s $1 million World Champion bonus and finished with $1,535,094 in earnings and 5,444.16 standings points.

Kaique Pacheco 2018 Nampa Recap

Kaique Pacheco went 2 for 3 this weekend placing 5th in rounds 1 and 2.  He was unable to convert in the event championship round and earned 80 world points ending the regular season the number one bull rider in the world with 5,326.66 points.  His lead over second place is now 1,710 points. 

Kaique has led the world standings for 10 weeks (week 17 through week 26), longer than any other rider this year.  He has the most event wins with 8; three 15 / 15 bucking battles (New York City, Sacramento, Billings) and five regular season events (Tacoma, Las Vegas, Springfield, Fairfax, Milwaukee).  He ranks second in round wins with 10, he has ridden the most bulls in the Premier series with 40, and across all series with 53.

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series: Nampa was the last regular season event for the 2018 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast season.  Athletes have a couple of opportunities to earn more world points prior to world finals; Touring Pro events in Jackson, TN Oct. 26 – 27th and Goliad, TX Nov. 3rd and a Velocity Tour event in Colorado Springs, CO Oct. 26 – 27th and the Velocity Tour Finals Nov. 2 – 3rd.  Currently, I’m not sure what the commitments will be for Prodigal Sports Group riders.  I will update you before finals with your sponsored riders’ standings prior to finals.

PBR World Finals: the 2018 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast World Finals is the final event of the 2018 season.   The PBR moves to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV Wednesday November 7th through Sunday November 11th.  Event local start times are 6:40 p.m. PST Wednesday – Thursday, 7:40 PST Friday – Saturday, and 12:40 pm PST Sunday afternoon

Kaique Pacheco 2018 Greensboro Recap

Kaique Pacheco went 3 for 3 this weekend, highlighted by winning the event championship round and finishing 3rdoverall.  Pacheco earned 340 world standings points and he remains the number one bull rider in the world with 5,246.66 points.  With one event left before finals his lead over second place is now 1,933.33 points.  The round win was Kaique’s 10th of the season, he’s currently on a streak of riding 7 straight bulls, and 10 of his last 12.  He leads all competitors across the multiple PBR sanctioned series’ with 51 bulls ridden to date.

Of note, with this weekend’s earnings Kaique surpassed the $500,000 season earnings mark, just the seventh rider to do so prior to the World Finals event and the first since 2015.

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series: the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast travels to Nampa, ID for the DeWalt Guaranteed Tough Invitational Presented by Cooper Tires at the Ford Idaho Center.  The 26th and final regular season event, a two-day event gets underway Saturday October 20th at 6:45 pm MT and concludes with round two and the championship round Sunday October 21st at 3:45 pm MT.

Kaique Pacheco 2019 Milwaukee Recap

With just two regular season events remaining Kaique Pacheco distanced himself from the field with yet another perfect weekend, riding 3 of 3 bulls and wining his fifth elite tour event of the season.  Kaique won the event championship round, his ninth round win of the season and earned 551.66 world points with the win.  His five event wins (Tacoma, Las Vegas, Springfield, Fairfax, Milwaukee) lead the series and he continues to lead the PBR world standings with 4,906.66 points.  His lead over number 2 is currently 1600 points, the largest lead by the top ranked rider this season. 

Pacheco rode his 15 / 15 bucking battle bull Saturday night to a second-place finish, earning 90 world standings points in doing so.

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series: the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast travels to Greensboro, NC for the Cooper Tires Take the Money and Ride at the Greensboro Coliseum.  The 25th event of the season, a two-day event gets underway Saturday October 13th at 6:45 pm CT and concludes with round two and the championship round Sunday October 14th at 1:45 pm CT.

Kaique Pacheco 2018 Virginia Recap

Kaique Pacheco was a perfect 3 for 3 and for the 4th time this season he was the event champion.  Pacheco earned 450 world points and extended his lead atop the world standings to 1,211 points.  His 4th event win leads the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast, and he now leads all Premier Series riders with 31 bulls ridden; 31 of 67 with a riding percentage of 46.27 %.  Across all Series and events, Kaique is 44 of 85 with a percentage of 51.76 %.  Pacheco has been first overall since week 17 of the season.

In his only blemish of the weekend, Kaique failed to ride his 15 / 15 bucking battle bull.

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series: the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast travels to Austin, TX for the Winstar World Casino and Resort Invitational which takes place at Frank Erwin Center on the campus of University of Texas.  The 23rd event of the season, a two-day event gets underway Friday September 28th at 7:45 pm ET and concludes with round two and the championship round Saturday September 29th at 6:45 pm ET.
