In his follow up Dr. appointment today, Briggs Madsen has been cleared for competition and he will now head down to Texas (from snow covered Utah) to get on some practice bulls. Advice from the surgeon and his personal trainer calls for two weeks of weight bearing training and riding practice bulls before returning to PBR UTB level of bulls in Nampa, ID early April. Briggs remains 50th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 40 points.
Eli Vastbinder went 1 for 2 over the weekend, sharing 10th – 11th place in round one, and finishing in a tie for 12th – 13th overall in the event. Eli earned 9.50 points and is currently 20th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 219.50 points.
Cooper Davis went 1 for 3 this weekend and remains fifth in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 454.00 points. Cooper placed in a tie for 10th – 11th in round one and qualified for the event championship round with that score. He earned 9.50 points and shared 12th – 13th place overall in the event.
Jess Lockwood’s riding status remains unknown until his Dr.’s appointment today. Jess tweaked his previously surgically repaired pelvis in Little Rock and Dr. Tandy Freeman advised him to hold off on riding until an MRI can properly diagnose the current issues. His appointment this afternoon in Philadelphia is with the surgeon that performed his original pelvis repair. I’ll stay in touch with you if / when I hear any new information. Jess is currently 26th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 159 points.
Kaique Pacheco went 0 for 2 over the weekend and is currently 3rd in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 662.50 points. He continues to lead the Tour with 9-event championship round qualifications, riding 6 of those 9 attempts. He also leads in total bull attempts with 42, and bulls ridden with 22. His 52.4% riding percentage ranks 4th. This marks the 9th consecutive week that Kaique has ranked inside the top four of the finals standings.
