Cooper Davis Indianopolis 2023 Recap

Cooper Davis was held out of competition once again and remains week to week.   When we spoke last week he told me he is very close to making a return, and he will make a mid-week decision on Sacramento.  He is currently 5th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 280.50 points.

Kaique Pacheco Indianopolis 2023 Recap

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 2 and finished 22nd overall in the event and earned 8 points for the lone ride.  He did however convert on his 15 / 15 Bucking Battle attempt Saturday night with 93 points and the round win.  Kaique earned 59 points and remains 3rd in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 368.50 points.  The round win was his 7th career 15 / 15 win, tied for 2nd most all – time (tied with Jose Vitor Leme) and the 93-point score is the highest recorded score of the season among all riders to date.

Briggs Madsen Duluth 2023 Recap

Briggs Madsen continues to recover from foot surgery without setbacks; it’s still early in the timeline but there is no indication he will need more than the expected 8 weeks before a return to competition.  I’ll continue to update you on his progress leading up to him hopefully competing in Los Angeles, CA February 25th – 26th.  Briggs is currently 38th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 40 points.

Eli Vastbinder Duluth 2023 Recap

Eli Vastbinder went 0 for 2 and fell 4 positions in the PBR UTB world finals standings to 28th, with 84.00 points.

Cooper Davis was held out of competition this weekend after tearing rib cartilage last week in Chicago.  Cooper is week to week with this “minor” injury and I would say that he is doubtful for Indianapolis this coming weekend.  He is currently 4th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 280.50 points.

Jess Lockwood Duluth 2023 Recap

Jess Lockwood returned to action, and impacted the field immediately sharing the round 1 win, and winning the event championship round outright.  His 92.00 score in round 3 was the weekend’s top score, and his 42nd career 90 pt. ride.  Lockwood rode 2 of 3 bulls and finished 2nd overall in the event, earning 102 points.  After one event he has secured his place inside the top 35 guaranteeing his qualification for future events without needing to use injury exemptions.  Jess is currently 23rd in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 102 points.

Kaique Pacheco Duluth 2023 Recap

For the second weekend in a row Kaique Pacheco went 3 for 3 however this time he was the only rider to do so, capturing his 1st event win of the season.  Pacheco was 4th in round one, 8th in round 2 on a Re-Ride bull and 3rd in the event championship round and earned 126 points.  With 226 points in two weeks Pacheco has improved 9 more positions to currently 3rd in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 301.50 points.  The event win was Kaique’s 53rd career PBR sanctioned win (27th at the PBR – UTB elite level), his 90.50 pt. score in round 3 was his 41st 90 point ride of his career (22nd in the UTB) and he has currently covered 6 consecutive bulls.  Kaique has previously ridden a career best 9 straight bulls three times in his career, with the last time being October 2018.

Eli Vastbinder 2023 Recap

Eli Vastbinder was a last minute alternate entry due to another rider’s injury in a mid-week event and he made the most of his opportunity.  Eli rode 3 of 3 bulls, highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the event championship round, and 3rdplace overall in the event.  This was Eli’s best finish of the season to date, and he earned a crucial 63.50 points improving to 24th in the PBR UTB world finals standings with 84.00 points.
