A STRONG START FOR GRANT ENFINGER TURNS SOUR FOLLOWING A LATE STAGE TWO WRECK AT KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY
“I just screwed up. I lost a little bit on that restart and then got a big suck down the back straightaway going into Turn 3, and got separated enough, I felt like, to clear him and go ahead and slide up there, but I didn’t clear him all the way and just lost my air and wrecked it. You can’t really run side-by-side here. It’s all on me. I was trying to make something of it and it just didn’t pan out. I hate it for these ThorSport Racing guys, this Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150 definitely had a shot at going to victory lane here tonight.”

TRACK-BEST START NETS A STAGE WIN FOR GRANT ENFINGER, BUT A MID-RACE INCIDENT RELEGATES THE CHAMPION POWER EQUIPMENT DRIVER TO A 16TH-PLACE FINISH AT CHICAGO
“Tonight was just unfortunate. We had a heck of a Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150, and we had a lot of the Champion guys here tonight – a lot of the guys that allow us to do this. Duke Thorson was here, he doesn’t come to a lot of these, so we really wanted to bring home the checkered flag for those guys, and for all the guys that work their butts off on this thing every week. The guys made perfect adjustments from practice to the race. Man, I thought it was going to be our night, but had it taken away. After the Stage win, we restarted second, was taken four-wide, and I had to back out of the gas – wrecked twice in one lap, but could only save it once. The guys did a great job fixing the truck after the wreck to keep it going. Just disappointed.”

GRANT ENFINGER FINISHES SIXTH AT WWT RACEWAY – REMAINS SERIES POINTS LEADER
“We had a Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150 capable of winning tonight. Unfortunately, we made a lot of big adjustments before the race because we weren’t that good in practice. We were really good from the drop of the green flag though. We were really good through the first and second Stage, just had a tire going down through the final Stage, and lost all of our track position, and just couldn’t overcome it at the end. I feel like we had a truck capable of battling Ross (Chastain) and the 52 guys, for the win. It’s unfortunate for these guys and everyone at ThorSport Racing. I feel like this is about the third race we’ve run well enough for the win, and came up short.”

GRANT ENFINGER SCORES 5TH-PLACE FINISH AT IOWA SPEEDWAY
“I mean it’s a lot of fun slippin’ and slidin’ out here by yourself, but it was just really difficult to pass, even when you’re a full tenth faster than somebody. So, it was all about those restarts, and the first couple of corners there. I think we had a really good Protect The Harvest Ford F-150, probably a third-place truck today. I don’t know if we could’ve been a factor with the two leaders up there. I think if we could’ve gotten track position, I don’t think they could have gotten back around us.”

FOURTH-PLACE FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT TEXAS
“We had an incredibly fast Protect The Harvest/ThorSport Racing Ford F-150. We we’re definitely capable of winning this race tonight, just didn’t have the track position when we needed it. I don’t know that we would have done anything different, but we got in some hairy spots, got our air taken off, got pushed around a little bit, but we were able to save the truck and survive a wild night. Unfortunately, I really feel like we gave up a chance to win.”

Kaique Pacheco 2019 Green Bay Recap

June 3, 2019

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 3 over the weekend, finishing fourth in round two and qualifying for the event championship round, his fifth of the season.  Kaique earned 40 world standings points and is currently 56th in the PBR world standings with 258 points.  As he looks for any sign of improvement and confidence boost, 56th is the highest position Kaique has been since his return from injury.

Up Next for PBR’s Unleash the Beast tour: The PBR Unleash the Beats is now officially on its summer break and all eligible riders will re-convene for the next UTB event in Cheyenne, WY for the Last Cowboy Standing July 22nd – 23rd.  This event will serve as the third Major of the season, and now takes place as part of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo.

The PBR Canada and US Touring Pro Divisions will take center stage now as riders will pick and choose which events to compete in.   Now is the time to either make up some ground and compete when healthy, or stay home get healthy for the stretch drive to World Finals once the UTB returns to action.  I will continue to update you on their progress and if any milestones take place as needed.  Including a much more in depth analysis of the first 17 events out to you at some point in the coming weeks.

TOP-10 FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT CHARLOTTE
“We started out the day terrible – we we’re just out to lunch. Jeff Hensley (crew chief), Josh Hankish (truck chief) and all the guys worked really hard on this Protect The Harvest Ford F-150. They got it drivable. They were able to make it a good truck by the time we qualified and raced. We were a third-place truck, we had nothing for the 51, but we had a solid truck all night. We finished third in both stages, felt like we should have finished up there – I’m very disappointed with this ninth-place finish. We just didn’t have the breaks we needed with track position, restarts or the rows we had to line-up in. Overall though, very proud of the speed we had from where we started the day, and the speed we had compared to our two previous runs here. I feel like Charlotte Motor Speedway will finally not be a place I dread coming back to next year. I’m just very thankful for Duke and Rhonda Thorson, Mike Curb, Champion Power Equipment, Protect The Harvest – just everyone that allows us to do this.”

TRACK-BEST SEVENTH-PLACE FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT KANSAS
“Overall we had a good Protect the Harvest Ford F-150 tonight at Kansas. We didn’t qualify very well, but we drove up to the front really early on. Myself, Jeff Hensley, everyone on this 98 team felt like we had a good race truck, and we proved that tonight. We had great pit stops, and great restarts, all night. We got the lead early, and could hold them off. Then, after that green flag stint, I felt like the 24 was just a little bit better than us, and I was trying to conserve tires. We felt like the 52 was gonna be short on fuel, so I was just trying to save our tires, to make a run there at the end. Unfortunately, the 24 got loose underneath us, and kinda ruined both of our nights. These guys did a good job getting the truck put back together, and we were able to salvage a seventh-place finish. I’m thankful for Protect the Harvest, Champion Power Equipment, Duke and Rhonda Thorson, Mike Curb, and everyone that allows us to do this each week. I felt like we let one slip away from us tonight. Just really disappointed that we couldn’t bring them home a win tonight, but we’re definitely showing them we’re capable.”

TRACK-BEST START NETS TOP-FIVE FINISH AND POINT LEAD FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT DOVER
“Overall we had a solid Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150. All weekend really, we just weren’t a race winning truck. It’s a lot about track position here, and gutsy restarts. If we were able to steal some track position, I think we could have held them off, but that’s about all we had. What a great day for ThorSport Racing though – all four of our Fords were in the top six. It means a lot that Duke and Rhonda Thorson allow us to come out here and do this. They got one locked into the Playoffs now, so that’s good. Congrats to our teammate, Johnny Sauter. Hopefully, we can lock another one in next week at Kansas.”
