GRANT ENFINGER STARTS ON THE POLE AT GATEWAY, BUT PIT ROAD PROBLEMS AND A LATE-RACE TIRE ISSUE FORCE THE CHAMPION POWER EQUIPMENT DRIVER TO SETTLE FOR A 21ST-PLACE FINISH
“We had a great Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150 tonight. We were able to run up front, and even when we lost track position, we were able to drive back up there. Unfortunately, someone got into our left tire late in the race, and cut it down. We had to pit twice to repair it, and that took us out of contention. I have to thank our teammates at ThorSport Racing. We struggled some in practice, but leaned on them, and it helped a lot.”

GRANT ENFINGER SETTLES FOR AN 11TH-PLACE FINISH IN IOWA
“Overall a tough night for this Protect The Harvest team. We got caught-up in messes a few times throughout the night, but our ThorSport Racing crew worked hard to get the truck fixed every time, and fired off some really good pit stops. It just wasn’t the night we were looking for.”

Kaique Pacheco 2018 Global Cup Sydney Recap

June 14, 2018

Kaique Pacheco was a perfect 4 for 4 in the second leg of the Global Cup, and while he wasn’t the only rider to ride all of his attempts, he did have the highest score total to win the individual average title.  There were no world points available at this event; only purse money and bragging rights!  Team Brazil rode 15 of 18 bulls on route to victory.

This was Kaique’s first event since winning the last PBR event before summer break in Las Vegas.  He has now ridden eight consecutive bulls at all levels of PBR competition and has won $229,761.53 in his last two events. He won $160,266.67 at Last Cowboy Standing.

Kaique is currently number 1 in the world standings with 2870 points, 240 points clear of 2nd place.

He has returned to Brazil and will compete at the Americana event this weekend knowing full well that points are at a premium during the summer months.

GRANT ENFINGER SCORES A STAGE WIN AND A TOP-FIVE FINISH IN TEXAS
“I don’t know what happened. I felt like we had a tire going during one of the first cautions, and I about lost it. Then I would struggle for a couple laps, and then we were able to rebound a little bit. The biggest thing was, Jeff Hensley (crew chief) was able to change our strategy a little bit – steal us some track position – and we were good enough to maintain. I think any time we were in the top-five, we were a top-five truck. We still have a little bit to be a contending truck, but we made gains. We were better than we’ve been in the past, and we’ve steadily been making gains.”

GRANT ENFINGER FINISHES 12TH AT CHARLOTTE
“All-in-all we didn’t have the best performance today, really from the time we unloaded. We just missed something. It wasn’t from a lack of effort. Everybody on this Champion Power Equipment Ford racing team worked their tails off all day, but we just couldn’t find it. We struggled from the beginning of practice through the end of the race. Constant issues, and never enough speed all night. It was just one of those races – super frustrating. Everywhere we’ve been, we’ve been better than we were last year. We’ll go back and regroup, and get ready for Texas in a couple weeks.”

GRANT ENFINGER FINISHES A TRACK-BEST EIGHTH AT KANSAS
“Overall it was a top-10 finish, but it was more than that as far as I’m concerned. We had really good speed out of our Protect The Harvest Ford F-150 – better speed than we’ve had. Like I keep saying, every truck we’ve brought to the track this year I feel has been better than what we had last year. A lot of that is thanks to Ford Performance, but a lot of it is due to these guys at ThorSport Racing, and I’m really proud of that. I made a mistake on that last restart, and we only had 50 laps or so to make up for it. I feel like I made up for some of it, not all of it, but just had a couple mistakes – some of them my fault, some of them circumstances. Overall, I’m proud of the effort, proud of the speed, we just didn’t have the brakes fall in our favor tonight. Like I said, we had a truck that I felt like could have contended, if we had a little bit better track position tonight.”

Kaique Pacheco 2018 Vegas Recap

May 8, 2018

Kaique Pacheco was a perfect 4 for 4, and once again was the only perfect rider in four rounds of Last Cowboy Standing, PBR’s most demanding Major event for the third consecutive year.  Among the highlights, Kaique marked a career best ride score of 92.75 points on PBR’s elite tour in round 3 aboard two-time World Champion Bull SweetPro’s Bruiser; he won rounds 3 and 4; he earned a whopping 940 world standings points and $160,266.67 with the win, both totals career bests.  And to top it all off, Kaique now enters the summer break in the number one spot of the PBR standings with 2,870 points.

Pacheco last spent 4 weeks at number one in August – September of 2017.  He had fallen as low as 21st in the world after the Albuquerque event March 16 – 18th, 2018.  Since then, in six Classic events and four 15 / 15 Bucking Battles, he has ridden 19 of 24 bulls, a staggering 79% and has an average finish of 3.4!

Up Next for PBR’s Premier Series:  the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast breaks for the summer and will return for its 18thstop in the 2018 season August 11 – 12 in Tulsa, OK and the Express Employment Professionals Classic Presented by Osage Casino at the BOK Center.

The Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour and PBR Touring Pro Division will take center stage as riders will pick and choose which events to compete in.   I will continue to update you on their progress and if any milestones take place as needed.  Including a much more in depth analysis of the first 17 events out to you at some point next week.

HARD-FOUGHT 14TH-PLACE FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT DOVER
“Overall we had a solid Curb Records Ford F-150 today, better truck than we had here last year, a truck capable of contending for a top-five. Unfortunately, we just got caught up in that lap one mishap, and then after that we cut a left front tire and had to pit under green, and got a couple laps down. Man, we had a fast truck just couldn’t catch a break all day to get back on the lead lap. I definitely caused us a shot of getting back on the lead lap, I vetoed (Jeff) Hensley’s call to pit under yellow with about 40 laps to go and then we ended up having to pit again for fuel soon after that, under green. That decision cost us a little bit, but it just wasn’t meant to be for us today. I’m really proud of the effort from everyone on this No. 98 Curb Records team.”
