Re: June re-cap as riders continue their summer break from BFTS

Kaique Pacheco returned to Brazil and has competed in three events; Divinopolis – MG, Americana – SP and the Americana – SP Iron Cowboy Qualifier. He’s ridden a combined 7 of 10 bulls, including a perfect 4 for 4 to win the Americana – SP event. Kaique has earned 60 PBR world standings points and he remains second in the standings with 2895 points; 120 points from the top spot.

Up Next: Riders have seven weeks before Tulsa and some will continue to compete on a regular basis, while others will pick and choose their events while predominantly staying close to home. Upcoming marque events include the non PBR sanctioned Calgary Stampede (qualified invite only), Velocity Tour events in Big Sky, MT and Santa Barbara, CA and Touring Pro events in Rock Springs, TX and Thief River Falls, MN. Up Next for BFTS: the PBR Express Employment Professionals Classic is the first event back from the summer break and 17th stop in the 2017 season as the PBR moves to Tulsa, OK and the BOK Center August 12th – 13th. Event local start times are 6:45 PM CT Saturday night and 1:45 PM CT Sunday afternoon. Tulsa will also host the season’s sixth 15 / 15 Bucking Battle Saturday night.

Grant Enfinger Race Recap:
Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 RIDE TVToyota Tundra, made his track debut at Iowa Speedway in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) M&M’S 200. Starting 10th, Enfinger finished 9th in Stage 1, and 12th in Stage 2. Restarting 13th for the final 68-lap stint in Stage 3, the ThorSport Racing driver ran consistently inside the top-10 before being involved in a lap-187 incident with his teammate, Matt Crafton, in Turn 3, to bring out the fourth and final caution of the night. Crew chief, Jeff Hensley brought the RIDE TV Tundra to pit road for four tires, and fuel. Restarting from the 11th position for the final seven lap shootout, Enfinger was able to make a late-race charge through the field, and finish fourth behind race winner, John Hunter Nemechek.

The solid run was Enfinger’s third consecutive top-five finish, and his fourth top-five in nine races this season.

What happened between you and your teammate, Matt Crafton?
“Yeah, I mean I’m just – I’m embarrassed. I was going for the bottom and I thought he (Matt Crafton) was going to go in the middle, and I just – he came down, and it was completely my fault. I mean, I just ran over him. I feel terrible for those guys. I’m sorry, but sorry doesn’t fix race cars, you know? Unfortunately, it wiped his out, and I just feel horrible about it. Really proud of all our ThorSport Racing guys and how far we’ve come. We had a pretty good truck, and like I said – it’s going to take a while to shake that off. I just – I feel terrible.”

• The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) had two practice sessions on Friday morning in preparation for Friday night’s M&M’S 200. Grant Enfinger was 12th, and 11th, respectively, in each session.
• In his Iowa Speedway debut, Enfinger started 10th, ran as high as second, and finished fourth.
• The RIDE TV driver earned a bonus point in Stage 1 for finishing inside the top-10.

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 RIDE TVToyota Tundra, made his track debut at Gateway Motorsports Park (GMP) in Saturday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Drivin’ for Linemen 200. Starting 14th, Enfinger finished 12th in Stage 1, and fourth in Stage 2. Restarting sixth in the final Stage, the ThorSport Racing driver maintained a position just outside the top-five through the final 83 laps. With 33 laps remaining, crew chief Jeff Hensley brought the No. 98 machine to pit road, for a scheduled stop under green, for two tires and fuel. With a mix of strategy on pit road, and a late-race caution, the RIDE TV driver was able to muscle his way to a fifth-place finish behind race winner, John Hunter Nemechek.

The solid run was Enfinger’s third consecutive top-five finish.

“It turned out that way because these guys busted their tails all day. We had a great test here a few weeks ago, but we got caught-up in that crash during practice, and these guys had to work their tails off to get it fixed. We had a better truck, I feel like, than fifth, but it gets dicey on the restarts, and you’ve got to put yourself in compromising situations to even have a shot at it. We got pushed around a little bit, we pushed around a little bit, but that’s just the way it goes. I’m proud of everybody on this RIDE TV team. We’re making gains. Every time we go to the track myself, Jeff Hensley (crew chief), everybody is just clicking, so I feel good going into the heart of the season.”

• The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) had two practice sessions on Saturday morning in preparation for Saturday night’s Drivin’ for Linemen 200. Grant Enfinger was 10th, and 18th, respectively, in each session.
• Early in final practice on Saturday afternoon, Enfinger and the No. 21 of Johnny Sauter made contact, forcing the RIDE TV driver into the wall, and resulting in damage to the right rear quarter panel of the No. 98 machine.
• In his GMP debut, Enfinger started 14th, ran as high as fourth, and finished fifth. The top-five result was Enfinger’s third consecutive top-five finish.
• The RIDE TV driver earned bonus points in Stage 2 for finishing inside the top-10.

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 Jive Communications Toyota Tundra, made his Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) debut in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) WinStarGamingOnline.com 400. Starting fifth, Enfinger finished fourth in Stage 1, seventh in Stage 2, and restarted the final stage from the 13th position. Happy with the balance of his Jive Communications Toyota Tundra, the ThorSport Racing driver was able to work his way through traffic late in the 167-lap event to finish third, under caution, behind race winner, Christopher Bell.

The top-three result was Enfinger’s second consecutive top-three finish, and his second top-five finish of the 2017 season.

“Overall, it was a really, solid weekend. Probably the best overall weekend from the start of practice to the end of the race we’ve had this year. Really proud of the effort we’ve made. We had good speed. We were a little tight at the beginning of the race, but at the end of the race, I feel like we were as good as anybody. We struggled with track position for whatever reason, but feel good about things going into the main part of the season. For the past few races, we’ve been getting better and better.”

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 RIDE TV Toyota Tundra, made his Dover (Del.) International Speedway (DIS) debut in Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Bar Harbor 200. Starting 12th, Enfinger ran as high as second, but consistently inside the top-10, and utilized pit strategy in the final laps of the 200-lap event to finish third behind race winner, Johnny Sauter. The third-place effort was the ThorSport Racing drivers season-best finish, and his third career top-five result in 20 NCWTS starts.

“It was definitely a good run for us. We needed a solid finish going into the busy part of the season. We haven’t had a great start to the year, but we have all the tools to work with, we just haven’t performed. Jeff Hensley (crew chief) made a great call there, and got us track position. Like Kaz (Grala) said, that seemed to be key. We were a mediocre truck in dirty air and I think we were pretty good in clean air, in all honesty. Yeah, I think Johnny (Sauter, winner) did great. He didn’t make a mistake there. It kind of proved that track position is more important than tires there at the end, but I can’t say enough about the calls. Hensley has made three good calls for us this season and kind of salvaged good days out of mediocre days for us. I’m really, really, proud of everybody on this RIDE TV Tundra. I feel like we’ve got a little momentum now. We’ve had two better finishes than we deserved the last two races, but I feel like we’re getting there.”

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 Champion Power Equipment Toyota Tundra, made his Charlotte (NC) Motor Speedway (CMS) debut in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) NC Education Lottery 200. Starting 16th, Enfinger overcame a loose Toyota Tundra, two pit road penalties, and a late-race caution to finish seventh behind race winner, Kyle Busch. The solid run was the ThorSport Racing drivers second top-10 in five starts this season.

“We salvaged a top-10 tonight. I’m proud of everyone on this No. 98 Champion Power Equipment team. We definitely did not have a seventh-place truck when the green flag dropped, but Jeff Hensley and my team never gave up and made the best of it all night. Hensley made a great call at the end of the race to come in and get scuff tires. We have some work to do as a team before we go to another intermediate track, but I’m happy with how hard my team worked all weekend.”

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 RIDE TV Toyota Tundra, made his Kansas Speedway debut in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Toyota Tundra 250. Starting 15th, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender overcame a spin on lap 12 to lead the 32-truck field once, for 14 laps. Running inside the top-10, with 30 laps remaining in the 167-lap event, Enfinger would get loose making a pass on the 7 truck and lose valuable track position. The ThorSport Racing driver would settle for an 11th-place finish behind race winner, Kyle Busch.

“We had a really good Tundra tonight. Everyone on this RIDE TV team did a really good job, but I feel like we probably gave away a top-five finish there tonight. We just got really loose underneath the 7 truck there at the end, and lost too many positions. Overall, a great effort by everyone. We’ve made improvements since Atlanta and I’m feeling good about heading to Charlotte next week, especially after the test. I appreciate everyone’s hard work tonight. I just feel like I let them down after losing those spots there at the end.”

For the second year in a row Kaique Pacheco was the Last Cowboy Standing as he came out on top after three rounds at Helldorado Days. His 2 for 3 performance highlighted by his first BFTS 90 point bull ride of the season in round 3 secured the event title. Kaique earned 825 standings points and he remains second in the PBR world standings with 2835 points; 180 points from the top spot.

In 27 total PBR events to date, Pacheco has twelve top 10 and ten top 5 finishes; he’s ridden a series best 38 of 66 bulls or 57.58% and earned a series best $304,364.60. BFTS event wins in Kansas City (15 / 15 Bucking Battle), St. Louis, and Las Vegas (PBR Major) and Velocity Tour event wins in Hidalgo, TX and Denver, CO has Kaique favorably in second place poised to make another run at the PBR world title.
