TRACK-BEST FOURTH-PLACE FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT MARTINSVILLE
“Overall we had a good Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150 today. We were in contention. We weren’t the best truck out there, but definitely a second or third-place truck. We kind of had to do the two-tire pit stop strategy there – we lost four or five spots on the first stop. That was the biggest thing we were up against today. Jeff Hensley (crew chief) made good calls on pit road, and we were able to pull off another top-five finish. We’re in a good spot four races in.”

TRACK-BEST FOURTH-PLACE FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT LAS VEGAS
“These ThorSport Racing guys brought a really fast Curb Records Ford F-150 tonight. It wasn’t drivable there at the beginning, in dirty air. I take responsibility for that – I didn’t put us in vulnerable enough positions yesterday during practice. But my crew chief, Jeff Hensley worked on it, made it way better, and I feel good about where we were at the end. Unfortunately, we didn’t pick up many Stage points to speak of, so I’m kind of disappointed in that, but still a solid night for us.”

TOP-10 FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT ATLANTA
“We just kind of teeter tottered on the balance a little bit today. When we hit it, I wouldn’t abuse the tires too much at the beginning of the run, and we could really make hay in the middle, and end, of a run. If I pushed it too hard at the beginning, we could be in a little bit of a better spot track position wise, but I’d loose it at the tail end of a run. Proud of our guys at ThorSport Racing for bringing us a fast Ford F-150 to the track – this is a better truck than we had last year – we were better prepared. We still have some weak areas we need to fix on the track, and off, but I’m proud of the effort and happy with the progress we’re making.”

GRANT ENFINGER POWERS THROUGH ADVERSITY TO SCORE A TRACK-BEST SIXTH-PLACE FINISH AT DAYTONA
“Overall a solid effort by everyone on this No. 98 Champion Power Equipment team. With the switch to Ford in the off-season, it was a team effort just to get to the race track this weekend. I’m proud of that, and proud of the effort this team put in tonight. Unfortunately, things just didn’t go the way we needed them to. Something went in the right rear there, when I spun out, and I got knocked in the right rear pretty hard, and the guys worked really hard to salvage what we had. After that it still had a little bit of speed. I could still push a little bit, it just didn’t have any handling after that. Overall, proud of the effort, and I feel like if we can maintain this all year, we’ll be the team to reckon with.”

TOP 10 FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER IN HOMESTEAD DEBUT

“Overall it was an ok night here for us at Homestead. I appreciate Champion Power Equipment being on board with us for this final race of the season, and appreciate all their support over the years. Really, we wanted to have a better run that this, but ended up eighth. We were decent at the beginning of the race, when we had some track position. We gave it up a little bit, about a third of the way through the race, and we just weren’t great enough to overcome that. We finished eighth, but maybe had about a sixth-place truck there at the end. I’m proud of the effort that everyone put in – everyone really dug deep all year. We know the areas we have to work on. There’s no one big area that we’re down on, we just need to step it up in a few places, and we’ll be a contender.”

GRANT ENFINGER RALLYS TO FINISH 7TH IN TEXAS
“Overall we had a solid night with our RIDE TV Tundra. We had decent speed, but we struggled with track position there at the end. Jeff Hensley (crew chief) did all he could to get us some, but overall we had a good truck, we just needed clean air. It was really hard to pass guys, and everybody out here was blocking. We would lose a run, and then we’d get a run, and then lose it again. But, overall everyone at ThorSport Racing worked hard, didn’t give up, and brought a good Tundra here tonight.”

“We had a pretty good Jive Communications Tundra. We struggled with track position, and we were a little tight the first half of the race, but the second half of the race, we really came alive. Jeff Hensley (crew chief) made a really good call there at the end to pit under green. We took two tires, and really should have come out second, but we got checked-up behind somebody, and ended up third on the restart. Hensley made another gutsy call to come in and take left-side tires under that last caution. I feel like we had a shot to win there. We got up to second, and started running with the 29 really hard, and just lost momentum. The 16 got to our outside, and I just lost the air, and we got together and tore up the right side. We finished ninth, but we had a shot at it – a little torn-up sheet metal, but we were going for it there at the end.”

I had a lot of fun, and appreciate the opportunity. Today just wasn’t good enough. I feel like I’ve figured out where we were struggling in the race. We made some good swings at it. The guys on pit road did a good job, we were just flat out not good enough. We will learn from it, and come back at Chicago.”

The solid run was Enfinger’s sixth top-five finish of the 2017 season.

Quote:
“We had a decent restart there at the end, and we really had a good Champion Power Equipment Tundra all day. We weren’t great. The 46 (Kyle Busch) – he’s really good at this racing stuff. He made us all look bad. But a solid run for us. We’ll take it. We need a little bit more, but very, very proud of everybody on this ThorSport Racing team. We had to battle through some adversity this week, but we still got some more to come, so we’ll keep fighting strong.”
