GRANT ENFINGER TURNS A TRACK-BEST START INTO A TRACK-BEST FINISH, FINISHING SECOND AT ELDORA SPEEDWAY
“I feel like we had the position on him (Chase Briscoe) – we really had equal trucks. Both of our ThorSport Racing Ford F-150’s was really, really good. Really equal. I thought I had the spot on him in Turns 3 and 4 – he kinda used us up down there. Nothing dirty, same thing I would have done, just the last lap at Eldora for a really big race. Congratulations to those guys, but man I wish we could have gotten one for this No. 98 Protect The Harvest Team. All-and-all a good points night for us with three races to go.”
Notes:
  • The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) had two practice sessions on Tuesday evening in preparation for Wednesday night’s Eldora Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway. Enfinger was third, and 12th, respectively, in each session.
  • The No. 98 Protect The Harvest Ford F-150 was fourth in single truck qualifying on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Enfinger lined-up first in Heat Race No. 4, and finished second, earning a ninth-place starting position for the main event.
  • Starting a track-best ninth, Enfinger finished seventh in Stage 1, and second in Stage 2. Restarting the final Stage from the second position, Enfinger battled with teammate and eventual race winner, Chase Briscoe on the final lap of an overtime shootout, but settled for a second-place finish in the sixth annual event at the half-mile clay oval.

GRANT ENFINGER FINISHES SIXTH AT KENTUCKY
“It was a solid night for this Curb Records Ford F-150 team. We had good short-run speed, it fell off a little bit 20-25 laps into the tire run, it would just get tight and chatter the tires. Overall, a great night for ThorSport Racing. Congratulations to Ben (Rhodes), Eddie (Troconis, crew chief) and all the guys on the 41, they did great. Matt (Crafton) had a good run too. A great night for ThorSport Racing. We have four more until the cut-off.”

GRANT ENFINGER STARTS ON THE POLE AT GATEWAY, BUT PIT ROAD PROBLEMS AND A LATE-RACE TIRE ISSUE FORCE THE CHAMPION POWER EQUIPMENT DRIVER TO SETTLE FOR A 21ST-PLACE FINISH
“We had a great Champion Power Equipment Ford F-150 tonight. We were able to run up front, and even when we lost track position, we were able to drive back up there. Unfortunately, someone got into our left tire late in the race, and cut it down. We had to pit twice to repair it, and that took us out of contention. I have to thank our teammates at ThorSport Racing. We struggled some in practice, but leaned on them, and it helped a lot.”

GRANT ENFINGER SETTLES FOR AN 11TH-PLACE FINISH IN IOWA
“Overall a tough night for this Protect The Harvest team. We got caught-up in messes a few times throughout the night, but our ThorSport Racing crew worked hard to get the truck fixed every time, and fired off some really good pit stops. It just wasn’t the night we were looking for.”

GRANT ENFINGER SCORES A STAGE WIN AND A TOP-FIVE FINISH IN TEXAS
“I don’t know what happened. I felt like we had a tire going during one of the first cautions, and I about lost it. Then I would struggle for a couple laps, and then we were able to rebound a little bit. The biggest thing was, Jeff Hensley (crew chief) was able to change our strategy a little bit – steal us some track position – and we were good enough to maintain. I think any time we were in the top-five, we were a top-five truck. We still have a little bit to be a contending truck, but we made gains. We were better than we’ve been in the past, and we’ve steadily been making gains.”

GRANT ENFINGER FINISHES 12TH AT CHARLOTTE
“All-in-all we didn’t have the best performance today, really from the time we unloaded. We just missed something. It wasn’t from a lack of effort. Everybody on this Champion Power Equipment Ford racing team worked their tails off all day, but we just couldn’t find it. We struggled from the beginning of practice through the end of the race. Constant issues, and never enough speed all night. It was just one of those races – super frustrating. Everywhere we’ve been, we’ve been better than we were last year. We’ll go back and regroup, and get ready for Texas in a couple weeks.”

GRANT ENFINGER FINISHES A TRACK-BEST EIGHTH AT KANSAS
“Overall it was a top-10 finish, but it was more than that as far as I’m concerned. We had really good speed out of our Protect The Harvest Ford F-150 – better speed than we’ve had. Like I keep saying, every truck we’ve brought to the track this year I feel has been better than what we had last year. A lot of that is thanks to Ford Performance, but a lot of it is due to these guys at ThorSport Racing, and I’m really proud of that. I made a mistake on that last restart, and we only had 50 laps or so to make up for it. I feel like I made up for some of it, not all of it, but just had a couple mistakes – some of them my fault, some of them circumstances. Overall, I’m proud of the effort, proud of the speed, we just didn’t have the brakes fall in our favor tonight. Like I said, we had a truck that I felt like could have contended, if we had a little bit better track position tonight.”

HARD-FOUGHT 14TH-PLACE FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT DOVER
“Overall we had a solid Curb Records Ford F-150 today, better truck than we had here last year, a truck capable of contending for a top-five. Unfortunately, we just got caught up in that lap one mishap, and then after that we cut a left front tire and had to pit under green, and got a couple laps down. Man, we had a fast truck just couldn’t catch a break all day to get back on the lead lap. I definitely caused us a shot of getting back on the lead lap, I vetoed (Jeff) Hensley’s call to pit under yellow with about 40 laps to go and then we ended up having to pit again for fuel soon after that, under green. That decision cost us a little bit, but it just wasn’t meant to be for us today. I’m really proud of the effort from everyone on this No. 98 Curb Records team.”
