Post-Race Quote: “We had really good speed and driveability out of our Champion Power Equipment Chevy. I feel like we were choosing most of the right lanes in the first stint and a half. We lost a little track position and I thought it would be a little easier to get it back than it was. Spent the rest of the race getting it back. We finally got up there around 10th or so and they spun out in front of us and I just got run over from behind.

The guys did a great job changing the tires and everything and not going a lap down. Then I went back out there and just tried to make whatever happen and got to the outside of the No. 51. I think he thought I wasn’t quite there yet, but I was. It just squeezed us into the wall and next thing you know the right front went down. We were playing catch-up after that and the guys did good getting us back on the lead lap to at least salvage something. Definitely let an opportunity slip away today and I think we had a good enough truck. If the situation let us and the stars lined up we would have had a shot at it.”

GRANT ENFINGER WINS AT MARTINSVILLE – ADVANCES TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP 4 AT PHOENIX RACEWAY

Enfinger, 35, of Fairhope, Alabama, earned this win managing two restarts in a frantic final 10 laps of racing on the .526-mile Martinsville Speedway notorious for its rough-and-tumble high-action brand of competition. He held off Rhodes by a mere .803 seconds to earn his career-best fourth win of the year and join Brett Moffitt, Sheldon Creed and rookie Zane Smith as the four drivers who earned a shot to challenge for the 2020 season title next week in Phoenix.

“Thank you guys, thank you guys, this is unbelievable,” Enfinger told his team as the No. 98 ThorSport Racing Ford took the checkered flag.

“It was tough, we knew we were going to have to take our gloves off and fight for this one,” Enfinger said after celebrating. “It’s been an up-and-down season for us, but we tended to peak when we needed to. And now I feel really good about our chances at Phoenix.”

GRANT ENFINGER RECOVERS FROM GOING TWO LAPS DOWN TO FINISH 13TH AT TALLADEGA AND ADVANCES TO THE ROUND OF 8

“Not the way we had it planned but our ThorSport Racing guys did a great job overcoming our early issues with the left rear tire rub. We had a great Champion Power Equipment/Curb Records Ford F-150 and I’m bummed we weren’t able to show all the speed we had. However, I’m very proud that we are able to move on to the next round of the Playoffs and it’s great that our other teammates were able to advance as well. We will be ready in Kansas.”

TOP-10 FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT BRISTOL

“Overall a decent night at Bristol (Motor Speedway). We had to overcome an issue that was shutting the engine off on corner exit in the first Stage, so that was detrimental to our tack position, but the guys didn’t give up. Tyler Shullick actually jumped in the truck, under caution, and swapped the ECU out and we didn’t go a lap down, that alone was a big deal within itself. Our truck had decent speed, we were probably one adjustment away from contending speed-wise. It was tough to pass, but we were able to make the most of it and finish sixth. I can’t thank everyone at ThorSport Racing, and the guys at ADS and Lucas Oil enough for coming on-board tonight. We had a decent night and can’t wait to get to Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) next week.”

GRANT ENFINGER RALLY’S FROM A LAP DOWN TO WIN IN HIS TRACK DEBUT AT RICHMOND RACEWAY

How do you explain a night like this? You had contact with your teammate, Ben Rhodes, which could have ruined everything and you come back and won this race. How did you do it?

“Man, this is a special night for us. It’s been a rough couple of months, but blessed to have some great partners – blessed to have Champion Power Equipment on board with us here. This one is for my buddy Jason, he’s been in the hospital for a month and a half or so now, but he’s starting to wake up, so this one’s for him and everyone who’s stood behind us. Even though we got the year started out pretty good, it’s been some rough couple months. I’m thankful to Duke and Rhonda Thorson, everyone that let’s us do this. We catch a little heck every now and then, but we had three ThorSport Racing F-150’s that could have won the race tonight, and I’m proud of that.”

Nothing about tonight was easy, especially trying to chase down your teammate Matt Crafton. Tell me about the pass for the lead, on old tires. How did you do it?

“It seemed like he (Crafton) wanted to be on the bottom, he could roll the top a little bit, but we rolled the center really good, and that was our advantage on the long run. I can’t say thank you enough to Jeff Hensley. Like I said, we’ve been beating our heads against the wall lately, but I feel like we’re going into the Playoff’s with some momentum. Really proud of our guys, proud of the guys on pit road. It’s been a tough stretch – a tough stretch with no sponsors at the track – hopefully they’ll know now we’ve been working our butt off all year.”

GRANT ENFINGER SCORES A TOP-FIVE FINISH IN HIS DARLINGTON DEBUT

“Overall a decent finish for our Farm Paint F-150, but we struggled some keeping the momentum up in Turn 4. We had a pretty good truck through 1 & 2. We made our F-150 better throughout the race and because of the way the strategy worked out, we were able to come home fourth. We have to get better for the Playoffs and we’re working hard to do just that.”

TOP-10 FINISH FOR GRANT ENFINGER AT GATEWAY

“Not the day we wanted, we didn’t come out here for eighth, but I am definitely proud of the effort – proud of the improvements we made on our FarmPaint.com F-150. It was too tight the first stage. The second stage we made it a lot better, but then it started getting too hot and we actually had to come in, unscheduled, and cool it down. Unfortunately, that caused us to lose some track position from there. We were able to scrap, claw and fight our way back to eighth. So, I’m proud of the improvements, we’ve just got some cleaning up to do before the Playoffs.”
